Lantern Arts Centre

The Lantern Arts Centre in Raynes Park, right near Wimbledon, is a vibrant community space that fosters creativity and engagement through the performing arts. For children, it offers various activities, including: Children’s Theatre Club, Youth Theatre, Lantern Youth Choir, Play Zone playgroup and Once upon a Story time playgroup.

The Colour House Theatre

The Colour House Theatre, located in Merton Abbey Mills, right near Wimbledon, is best known for its weekend children’s productions, offering original musical adaptations of beloved fairy tales.

New Wimbledon Theatre

For children and families, the New Wimbledon Theatre offers engaging and interactive shows. These shows provide opportunities for younger audiences to experience live theatre in an accessible and entertaining way. The theatre is particularly famous for its annual Christmas pantomime, which attracts families and features well-known stars

Polka Dot Theatre

Upcoming productions include adaptations of beloved stories and original works aimed at inspiring and engaging young minds. Beyond shows, the theatre features indoor and outdoor play areas, a café, a book corner, and comfortable spaces for families to relax. The venue hosts a variety of interactive performances for different age groups, including shows for toddlers and older children, and offers a welcoming hub for creativity and entertainment in the community.  The theatre also runs special activities such as its 6+ Zone for older children and seasonal workshops

The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum

Located at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, is a fascinating destination for tennis fans of all ages. The museum offers an in-depth look at the history and evolution of tennis, featuring exhibits on iconic players, historic matches, and the development of the sport.

Children's activites include Interactive Displays, Tennis History, the museum often hosts family-friendly activities, such as treasure hunts or workshops during half terms, and the VR experience, which provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at Wimbledon, including a chance to “walk” onto Centre Court.

The Wimbledon Windmill Musuem 

The Wimbledon Windmill Museum, located on Wimbledon Common, offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of windmills and rural life. For children, the museum provides interactive opportunities such as grinding corn with a hand quern, allowing them to experience aspects of rural life. Admission is affordable (£2 for adults and £1 for children), and the museum is open on weekends and bank holidays during the summer months. Families can also enjoy the adjacent Windmill Tearooms and the beautiful green space of Wimbledon Common

Wimbledon Library

Wimbledon Library, located on Wimbledon Hill Road, offers a wide range of resources and activities for all ages. The library provides books, audiobooks, magazines, public computer access, and study spaces. It also hosts events and activities for children, such as regular storytelling sessions, arts and crafts, and educational workshops. 

Children’s programs often include “Rhyme Time” for toddlers and “Code Club” for older children to learn coding skills in a fun environment and family film screenings.

Wimbledon Village Stables

Wimbledon Village Stables is a equestrian center located in Wimbledon Village, offering horse riding lessons and activities for riders of all levels. It caters to children 7+, with opportunities like lessons on a horse-riding simulator, designed to prepare new riders for horseback experiences. For young equestrians, the stables provide a safe and structured introduction to riding, starting with 30-minute sessions, which are ideal for beginners and children wanting to build confidence

Wimbledon Museum 

The Wimbledon Museum offers a fascinating journey through the rich history of Wimbledon village and its surrounding area. Located in the heart of Wimbledon, the museum features a variety of exhibits, including historical artifacts, maps, photographs, and documents that tell the story of the area’s evolution—from its rural beginnings to its vibrant modern-day community.

They offer activities designed to engage younger visitors, such as Interactive Exhibits, Treasure Hunts, Workshops and Events and Local History for Kids in simplified presentations.​
